The Roam service plans are designed for mobile and portable use, such as camping or travel. Two service plans are available:
- Roam 50GB, which includes 50 GB of data with the option to purchase additional data by the GB.
- Roam Unlimited, which has no data cap.
Roam plans include:
- Countrywide coverage, including inland waterways and marinas, is available in the country of your account.
- In-motion use is permitted, regardless of hardware.
- Once activated, you can change service plans anytime and as many times as you like via your Starlink account portal. Changes will take effect immediately or at the start of your next billing cycle, depending on the plan.
- You have the ability to pause and unpause service with Standby Mode (learn more here).
- International travel is allowed in available markets for up to 2 months per trip. If you plan to stay longer, you may be asked to transfer your account to a new country. Learn more here.
Important notes:
- Roam Unlimited users can opt-in and pay for Ocean Mode* to enable coverage beyond 12 nautical miles or to connect in territorial waters for longer than the 5 consecutive days/60 days a year cap where Starlink provides active coverage around the world. Ocean Mode also provides higher network priority than Roam data everywhere Starlink is available.
- For the Roam 50GB plan, keep in mind that 50GB is roughly equivalent to 20 hours of high-definition video streaming or 50 hours of video calls.
- If you exceed the allotted data on the Roam 50GB plan and have not opted-in for additional data, you will be unable to use the internet except to access your Starlink account, from which you can add additional data or change plans.
- Roam 50GB is only available in select markets. If Roam 50GB is not offered in your country, please contact us.
- For customers in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Jordan, & Mexico, in-motion use of Starlink on land is prohibited due to local regulations.
- If you use Roam in a country different from your shipping address for over two months, Starlink may require you transfer your account to your new country. If your new location is not in an authorized territory (marked "Available" or "Waitlist" on the Starlink map, your service may be immediately suspended. See Terms of Service for more information.
- The Roam 10GB plan is no longer offered. For similar use cases, consider Roam 50GB for high-speed data (with available overage data billed-per-GB) or pausing with Standby Mode for unlimited low-speed data (perfect for backup connectivity, emergency messaging, and easy reactivation even in dead zones).
- If you are already on Roam 10GB, you can continue using it. Should any changes occur, we’ll notify you in advance to make the transition as smooth as possible. Please note that if you switch to another plan, you will not be able to return to Roam 10GB.
*Ocean Mode was previously referred to as Global Priority Data.
