Is Starlink waterproof?


The Starlink and power supply are water jet and dust resistant.The Starlink and power supply have a rating of IP56. To ensure maximum resistance to water ingress, please be sure the Starlink cable is fully seated before exposing the Starlink to the elements.

The Starlink WiFi router is designed for indoor use. It is dust and splash resistant with a rating of IP54.

IEC 60529 - Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)

Code Level Meaning
First Digit - Solid Particles 5 IP5X - Dust-protected. Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the safe operation of the equipment.
Second Digit - Liquids 4 IPX4 - Splashing of water. Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect.
Second Digit - Liquids 6 IPX6 - Powerful water jets. Water projected in powerful jets against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
